According to vastu it should be placed in a specific direction otherwise it will affect the life of the occupants in various aspects.

In vastu every room has their specific placement according to direction similarly bathroom has its own direction.

Ø      Direction: According to vastu principles there are three directions where we must have a washroom in our living space such as – ESE, WNW, SSW. ESE is referred to as the anxiety corner. WNW is referred to as a detox corner. SSW is referred to as the disposal corner. If the washroom were placed this direction then it will flush out all your anxiety, stress, of yours. It will minimise the negativity of the house.

Ø      Colour: You must prefer colours according to the directions it is placed. Choose light shadow and avoid dark colours. Dark colours attract negativity. So, it’s better to avoid it. Also avoid dark grey, black or navy blue colour.

Ø      Entry door: According to vastu principles the entrance of the washroom is to be from the North or East direction. Bathroom door should not face South.

Ø      Wash basin: The wash basin & shower is recommended to have on the North side of the washroom and slope of water flow is also towards North or East side.

Ø      Electronic Items : The electronic items like hair dryer, straightner, treamer, geysers and fan should be placed in the SE or South direction of the washroom.

Ø      Bath tub: The bathtub to be placed in the North direction of the washroom. As North direction represents the water element so placing water related features like bathtub shower is favourable according to vastu principles.

Ø      Leakage: Always remember a leakage in tap or any fitting will create major money flow problems in one’s life and it also affects the structure of building which may lead to repair and maintenance. It is believed that leakage in taps lead to unnecessary expense. So repair it on an urgent basis if there is any leakage in the tap.

Ø      Toilet seat: Avoid toilet bowl facing East or West direction. It is best if you place it in such a way that one should face towards North or South.

Ø      Small window & Exhaust: There should be a small window or exhaust in the washroom for the circulation of air. This airflow will remove odours, moisture and airborne impurities ensuring the clean and refreshing atmosphere. Ventilation must be in the East, West or North wall of the washroom.

Ø     Decoration: Do not decorate the washroom with prosperity paintings. You can use sea shells in decorating it. Try to use decorated items of green or brown colour to add a touch of nature.

Some of the important factors to keep in mind:

·     Always keep washroom neat & clean

·     Don’t use it as store

Strict NO Point

Don’t prefer to have those houses or construct washrooms in SE, SW and NE direction. NE corner is known as ‘Ishaan Kon’, installing a toilet in this corner will disrupt the flow of positivity. And it will affect the occupants very badly through health, financial or career aspects and it also be avoided to have a washroom at the centre of the house. Avoid black, grey & Navy blue colour in washrooms even in case of wall color or tiles or flooring or any fittings. SW is the Nairutya corner; it enhances the relationships, and brings financial stability in life. Placing toilets in this direction will affect financial stability and create relationship problems. SE is the Agni Kon, a zone that attracts money flow. Toilets in this direction will affect the financial status of the individual.

Bathrooms are the most neglected areas while constructing vastu compliant houses. However this is the area from which negative energy enters the house. Hence, if you want to have positive energy flow at your living space then it is essential to place each element of the bathroom as per its vastu recommended direction. So to live a peaceful life you should follow all the above rules to avoid any type of negativity at your living space.
